Emerald Velo Membership Information

Emerald Velo is open to all riders interested in joining a community oriented club. The emphasis is on community involvement and promoting the sport of bicycling. We have several events that we promote throughout the year. Chief among them is the OBRA Time Trial Championships.

Members of EmeraldVelo enjoy the following benefits:

Discount on all purchases made at River City Bicycles. Our shop sponsor for 3 years (Be sure to say 'Thank You' to Dave Guettler for his support of cycling!)
Reimbursement of racing expenses for all eligible team members. (Eligibility includes volunteering for a Team sponsored event or holding office within the Team's Board of Directors. Race events are restricted to annual events. These events include District events or stage races. Weekly events, such as PIR, Mt. Tabor or Thu/Fri Track races are not eligible for reimbursement.)

Race Reimbursements:

IIn order to be eligible for race reimbursements, you must be an EVBC member in good standing. Guidelines for this include the following:

All club dues have been paid for the current year.
Volunteer commitments (i.e. Board member, helping out at team sponsored events) have been met.

Download the Reimbursement form (9Kb Adobe PDF). Fill out the form and mail it to the address printed on the form.

Club membership:

Club membership is open to all. The only requirement for membership is a desire to have fun and promote the sport of cycling!

To apply for membership, contact Ivan Meadors (Membership Coordinator). Ivan will be happy to answer any and all questions related to Emerald Velo.

Download the Membership Application (RTF file). Fill out the form and mail it (attached to an email is preferred) to the club Secretary, as specified on the form; Payment (check) for membership dues should be sent to the club Treasurer, as specified on the form.

A membership packet will be sent to you with dues information and clothing order forms.

Clothing orders are handled by Steve Holland. Email Steve with orders or questions.

OBRA Membership and Forms:

The Oregon Bicycle Racing Association (OBRA) is the governing body for all racing in Oregon. The OBRA website has information on coaches, race schedule and promotion, and OBRA membership inforamtion. Visit OBRA to download the form needed to become and OBRA member.

Team Mailing List:

Emerald Velo has a team-wide mailing list that is available to all team members for free. This is list is used to coordinate training rides, volunteer efforts, and race notifications. To join the list, send an email to evbc-subscribe.Include the following in the BODY of your message:

You will then receive notification that you have been added to the list.
